Now you can take your bike with you when you ride on selected RTA bus routes...
Bike racks have been installed on 30 RTA buses. Each lightweight rack holds two bicycles. The racks are designed specifically for use on transit vehicles. They are easy to use, and you can load or unload your bike in just a few seconds.
|Availability||From April 1- December 1, 1996, bike
racks will be available on all buses serving routes 13,
14, 16 & 51. On weekends, bike racks will also be
available on Routes 15, 17, 18 & 19.
Bike space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the rack is already being used, you will need to wait for the next bus (bicycles will not be permitted inside RTA buses). For safety reasons, the bike rack service will not be available during the winter months.
|Anyone can use the racks, although children age 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.|
|How to use
the bike racks
|You will be responsible for loading and unloading your own bicycle from the rack. The bus driver is not permitted to leave the bus to help you. You are responsible for securing your bicycle properly so it does not create a hazard to the bus or its passengers. You may use the racks at your own risk.
